A Ham Sandwich

I can prove that a ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness.  Ready?

  • Nothing is better than eternal happiness, right?
  • I’d certainly rather have a ham sandwich than starve, i.e. have nothing
  • Ham sandwich > nothing > eternal happiness.

Logical paradoxes amuse me.

Nothing is better than eternal happiness, right?

    =/=

    Nothing > Eternal Happiness.

The problem is that “nothing” is being used in two different ways here.
The first comparison states that no things are better than eternal happiness.
The second states that a ham sandwich is better than having nothing, or starving.

The first usage implies an existence of things, which are being compared. The second implies a void of things.

    • There’s this kind of communication known as a “joke”. Ever heard of it? :P

      • Kudos! What a neat way of thiiknng about it.
